I noticed this Ric on Ebay and read his description and noted quite a few inaccuracies, since I own the same exact bass he has pictured and it doesnt have some of the things it says it does.

My letter to him:
First of all, it may well be a 1973, because I have the exact same one. The
problem with 1973 Ricks is that they were made during a changeover year, so
some models have checkered binding and not the full crushed mother-of-pearl
inlays, (which yours does not, but is stated in your description). You state
that it has a horseshoe pickup, which it does not. It is a standard Rick
issue bridge pickup with a chrome cover over it to simulate the horseshoe. I
dont know the serial number but I am guessing it is MLxxxx or MMxxxx. Most
early 1973 Ricks have the checkered binding and the crushed inlay but not
the horseshoe, which was starting to be phased out by then. So...in the
interest of accuracy (and selling your bass, because most Rick buyers really
know their stuff) I would suggest you update your description.
I dont mean for this to come off as me ripping on you, I just love the
older Ric features and don't see them in evidence on this bass.

And his reply....which sounds best using the Monty Python "Snotty English Pig-Dogs" voice....

I would not sell this beautiful bass to you anyway, just because of your
attitude, so it is a good thing that you do not want it. It is not for sale
to you!!

Oh well....I guess it is my loss because I disputed his description....I can't buy it now! Oh, the sadness!
