Please note, in no particular order, Zero Feedback, Member since Today, or better yet go to Chicago Music Exchange, click on Rickenbacker Basses and then the photo for the 1979 4001 Autumnglo.
Amazing how the same bass is also on sale there for only $795.00 U.S.

I saw the new member status, but didn't realize it was also listed elsewhere.

Interesting...

I asked him why his picture is exactly the same picture that is on the Chicago Music Exchange site. Haven't heard back yet.

Can I send him a wad of unmarked bills? Will I get the bass?

I really like these. Does anyone have a real good photo of one? I believe the 4002 came in this finish along with mapleglow right?

The 4002 was available in Walnut. Somewhere on this forum is a correct description of the difference (one's a matte finish - my memory fails me which one).

Jeff,
Walnut is gloss, Autumnglo is matte finish, if my head is working properly.

I tried e-mailing Chicago Music Exchange but got a mailer-daemon bounce-back, so I just called them and gave them the item number of the dubious eBay posting.

Jeff, I believe it was in one of my earlier threads that I pointed out that Autumnglo was the satin finish and Walnut, the gloss finish. For the 4002, I believe the color was officially Autumnglo.

Scott, I think I posted a picture of my 1974 4001 WAL next to a 1975 4001 FG in an earlier thread... aha!, here it is:
