That's just bad photography. The headstock shot shows the normal Fireglo finish.

I'm surprised at how many ebay listings I see by people selling Rickenbackers that don't know anything about the instruments. Cranberry? Maybe he likes Xmas diner so much he names colors after the dishes and sides... "Stuffing Tan", "Turkeyburst", "Fresh-baked-bread White", "Gravyglo", "Crimson of Belligerent Cousin"...

Remember a year or two ago the Ric on ebay the somebody refinished ... the center was brown and the edge was blue ... I gave it the name Fecal Burst ...
With that in mind this hack photography job don't seem so bad
