Are all 325's semi-hollow?

Post by melibreits »

I was just curious, because my 325V59 feels really heavy for its small size....and the sustain is just incredible, like one might expect from a solid-body guitar. This is one sweet little jangler, too! Is there such a thing as a solid-body 325?

Yep. The older ones(especially the ones with an f-hole) have a pronounced acoustic sound to them when unplugged..Try a 325C58 and you'll see what I mean.

I believe there was a prototype of a solid-body 325 made circa 1969-70; it still may be in the possession of RIC, possibly hanging in JH's office...

It feels heavier because it is basically a v63 body with a thick back to make it thicker.
