Took the plunge

I've lurked here from time to time, but now I have a reason to post: thanks to all of you Ric crazies, I took the plunge and bought my first Ric. It's a 330 in Jetglo, and I have to say that this guitar is great. You folks did not steer me wrong, and I'm having a great time with it. I've got lots of guitars - Gibson, Fender, Guild, etc.,
but this one sounds different than all of 'em. I love the look, finish details, construction, but most of all the sound - love the punch of those single coils. Quality from top to bottom. Anyway, just had to let you forumites know that you got another one in the club. Thanks!

Welcome, Jim. You'll find that this is a dangerous place for those of us afflicted with acute G.A.S.

Interesting name!

Tee-hee... How long before this poor fellow posts about his 2nd Ric? 3rd? 4th?

Thanks for the welcome, but stop tempting me! I've already spent too much money this year, and it's only February. I don't need more stuff...

Uh-huh.... I never felt worthy of my first Ric, and I keep thinking that every Ric I get will be my last, but somehow they keep finding their way in my door--my husband loves buying them for me.... or maybe he just loves my reaction when he gets me another one! ;) If you love the one you've got, believe me, there will probably be more in your future!

Jim...Sir Andrew is right!! Be VERY careful...you will find yourself drooling at the very thought of a V63 or a Shadow or a Blackstar or a 4003S/5....It will consume you....oh yeah, sure, you start out with a 330JG...then it's "Hey, check out that nice 360-12MG that looks like Roger McGuinns"....and before you know it, you're sitting in your living room, staring at all the RIC cases and guitar stands and basses and guitars and......BWAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

Sorry about that guys.....you know...

OOps, sorry about the double-post, guys....that was weird, and I'm not sure how it happened, as I thought I was still previewing!

One cannot live without two lovely Rics. You're hooked. A nice twelver would go good with that 330.

Funny you should mention a twelve - it was one of those that pushed me over the edge. Our lead guitarist showed up at rehearsal with a 360/12 not long ago, and that was it - I was hooked as soon as I played 2 chords on it. I will NOT, I repeat, NOT, be making that mistake again soon. From now on you can call me cheap, a tightwad, fiscally responsible, Mr. Frugal, yep, that's me.
No more guitar porn on this site for me, thanks.
I will not look at the pictures, only read the articles from now on. Admitting you have a problem is the first step toward recovery, they say, but who's got a problem? Not me, no way, I'm not even thinking about 325s or 340s or 350s. Or basses, I'm not thinking about them, either.

Well, you know Jim-
A 330JG was my first rick as well. I love it, but I recently came across the opportunity to trade up to a 360V64, which I am doing tommorow actually. Toasters just really sing, man.
Let me ask you this - have you ever played a 325?

Hey Jim, Have you seen Peter's page on Rickenbacker Addiction yet? (I just tried to put a link here, but couldn't get it to work--somebody help me out here!)....

Anyway, if you're spending time at this site, you're probably already too far gone!

It's NOT an addiction!! It's NOT, I tell you! I can quit at ANY time! I only use RIC's "recreationally" and I CERTAINLY don't ABUSE my RIC's!.......mommy!!!
