Rembrandts' bass

I flipped over to VH1 last night and caught bits of "One Hit Wonders" and they showed pieces of the Rembrandts video clip with the stars from "Friends." It was obviously an all-Rick band, but the bass was unusual. It was a 4003 and predominantly red, but had a black pickguard and TRC, and what looked like either engravings or applique art on the body. Anybody here know the story on this bass?

Looks like it's Mapleglo with magic marker "art" on the top and headstock.

maybe its the Lemmy K 4004 forerunner!

I still like the old rollercoaster disaster movie with the young Helen Hunt, the bass player in the band had an Azure-glo 4001.

The name of this high caliber movie escapes me, poor cholinergic transmission!

No-no, this was when the extremely talented (lol) Helen Hunt was a teen. I think George Segal was the detective and there was a bomber that was going to blow up the amusement park.

Anyways the band playing featured a guy playing a azure-glo 4001-he was lousy (like the pic) but the g'tar was nice

Hmmm...I know nothing about the "Friends" video, thank goodness, but in case you're not aware, Rembrandts are really a two man band, with added musicians as needed. And IIRC both play Teles and acoustics as often as Rics.

Jared, I remember that movie AND that bass. I think that was called "Rollercoaster" but not sure. It was one of a slew of Irwin Allen like disaster flicks in the '70's. That one was about rock bottom.

The movie is from 1977. Helen Hunt was 13.
