I've been noticing a bunch of new members lately. I just want to say "welcome" to all of them, and "nice job" and "thanks" to Pete. (Let me know if I can help in any way.)

Yes they are available in 3 colours: black, maroon and natural tan.

You can get one for $25 at:

The new ones are actually a little too stiff and hard for my taste. The underside of the shoulder strap is unfinished leather. But hell, I just had to have one because of the letters "Rickenbacker" haha!

I much prefer the vintage black crocodile straps from Levy's, which are softer and more comfortable with their smooth finished underside of the shoulder pad:

One of these days I will hook up my RIC strap with my black Nikon FM SLR camera which currently sports a Fender strap.Image

Haha, blasphemy indeed!

Man I gotta replace that Fender strap on my "3rd Eye" with my RIC strap soon to do the girls justice.

Paul,
You should make a small RIC TRC to put over the Nikon logo on the pentaprism!

I hate to say this but I have leather Fender straps with cloth under the leather on two of my Rics here and cloth F's on all my other ones, you can't see the name at all, they're just plain cloth (cotton?) that matches my basses colors, they are really comfortable.

Count me in Peter, without this forum I dont really know what I'd do with my spare time, anything I could ever do to help, just give a shout........And Paul, Sophie is just simply breathtaking. You are the king when it comes to great pics.

Actually, rather than unfinished leather, the underside is a separate piece of suede leather. These straps are produced to our spec by Levy in Canada.

All of my Ric basses have black Gibson seat belt straps on them. I'd be interested in a Ric branded version of the seatbelt, but those thin guys don't last long around here, unless they're on the mandolin.

Yes "suede" is a better word than "unfinished". Thanks for the correction, Mr. Hall.
I wouldn't have used the word "unfinished" if the underside was "black suede" instead of "natural suede", haha.

Scott,
Thank you!

Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome and let me say that it's great to be a member. I've learned a lot from reading all the posts.

Now I need to register my RIC's on the registration page and I'll feel like a complete member.

Thanks!

Bob
