I don't think the description is accurate. Burgandy? Looks JetGlo and I don't see any checkered binding on it. Way pricey.

It must look like one of the scenes from the old "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" shows. They run down the floor and throw the guitar in the hanger as they slide by.

Is it the angle or does that pickguard look too long at the bottom near the jack plate? Or..... maybe it was hanging straight up and down for too long and they noticed it and decided to hang it on an angle like that hoping the pickguard would meld back into shape.

The burgandy finishes were a mix of red mixed with black, sometimes they look like that. Looks like a nice bass, but the angle makes me sea sick.

Dedgoat (just read your redneck post) I got me one of them there burgandy (hell, here we drink T bird) geetars and it's dark translucent red (mixed with black?) on top of gold, it's a dark one too, but not that dark. It's an 81.

Yeehaw Bob, (such a great name, either way it's Bob)I remember Mark Arnquist saying it was usually the earlier ones that were the darkest mix. BTW Tbird does a good job of removing rust from lugnuts.

Burgundyglo is simply a mix of Fireglo and Jetglo.
That 1972 is a looker. A bit pricey, too. I wonder why the pickguard has no finger rest screw holes.

I thought the pickguard may not be original. Some do and some don,t have the thumbrest holes from this year. It,s pretty close to me. I may go and check it out, and take a look under the guard, but at that price they can,t be serious...can they??

That era burgundy seems to be always an eggplant color, almost black except under strong light. Finger rest also seems to be a hit or miss prospect on models from that time. I have a dec '73 burgundy 4001 and it is much lighter color. I think the price is probably because it's in such good condition, not that I'm JUSTIFYING it!
