Binding blem on my new 620, any suggestions Mark?

Hello all, first time post for me here. Great Forum! Mark I was hoping for some advice from you. I just received my new 620 and am really pleased with it. I noticed what appears to be a glue smudge on the neck binding that while cosmetic, still bugs me. I tried picking at it lightly but it would not come off. I don't want to damage the finish, but are there any mild solvents that may soften the blem yet leave the finish intact? If it is at all risky, I'll leave it. I've even thought about trying to buff it out with a mild rubbing compound. Any suggestions? Thanks, Chelvis.

First you need a really bright .
Does this 'glue' really appear under the clear coats?

rotate the guitar under the light to check this .
If it is on top ...then polish (not PLEDGE or any 'guitar' polish but automotive stuff )can be used.

If it is under the finish ...you have a case of PASTE WOOD filler residue. If that is the case ,This slipped by the last person after checkout in the assembly area when it was being final cleaned and cased/boxed.
I would call sales and ask them or perhaps JH would like to answer here.

Mark,

Thanks for the scoop. It is definitely on top of the finish, and appears to be glue (almost looks like Crazy Glue). It is pretty stubborn and I didn't want to pick too hard at it. When you say automotive stuff, would a pure carnuba car polish fit the bill? Any favorite brand? Thanks again. Chelvis.

carnuba is not my recommendation .I have posted as to why before and I need to get out my book on that one .

I use 3M finesse it .I get this from automotive paint supply shops.

In Western Washington State,USA Wesco autoboby supply.

This is what most car guys use.And most guitars are now painted using OEM type Auto paints .EVERYONE!!!

Carnuba wax falls into the catagory of ...thats all grandpa had ,like French polishing, shellac etc.
Get with it .We have way better things now .
Do you still use a Goose quill to write with...NO!

Get my point ? Sorry I'm so blunt .

Mark,

Thanks again. I'll track down the 3M product. The only reason I mentioned carnuba was because it was mentioned previously in this forum. I too thought it was a bit antiquated. I'll let you know how it goes. Chelvis.
