As this is my 330th post, here is a photo of my 330's, which were also my first three Rickenbackers!

Image

In the middle is my very first Ric, made in 1982. It is the one that made me fall in love with Rickenbacker. Although it has some issues with finish checking and hazing, it is still a great-sounding and great-playing guitar; the action is unbelievabley low, even for a Ric, and although it has high-gains, the tone of it is real similar to that of a Ric with vintage scatterwound toasters, although not as trebly. It is really a warm, mellow-sounding guitar. I'll never forget how I felt when I first opened the case after my husband surprised me with it on our anniversary.... I didn't feel like I was worthy to touch, let alone own, a Rickenbacker.... now I am hooked for life!

On the right is my angelic 1989 330-12, the only Ric I ever actually asked my husband to buy. Wonderful-sounding, and easy playing--heavenly!

And on the left is my Midnight Blue "Bad Boy Ricky," also made in 1989. Its highgains are a little hotter than the others, and it has a lot of snarl and bite to its tones.... A great rocker with attitude!

Awesome collection Melissa, I'm sad 'cuz it'll take forever for me to get to my 4003rd post, then 4004th!!! I've been a bass player for years and have never taken up guitar, seeing these Rics makes me want to learn!

Melissa! So many guitars; so little time to play, maybe? I think the blue one looks lonely; you're not interested in letting someone babysit one of these for a while?
