According to Chris Curtis (1997) The Searchers left Johnny Sandon to make a go of it on their own. Johnny decided to perform in the army base circuit which turns out to have been a devastating career move. Curtis did produce a Brook Benton number "So Many Ways" for him on Pye Records at one point.

Johnny Sandon made a number of records with a liverpool band Remo Four.

In the late nineties he was to be found driving a taxi cab in Liverpool.

Sadly he commited suicide about 4 years ago.

Roy: I am wondering if there are any recordings of Johnny Sandon with The Searchers and are you aware of what is available with regard to the Remo Four.

As far as I am aware, there are no recordings of Johnny Sandon with The Searchers. It is possible some bootleg tapes exist, but I suspect these would have surfaced, soon after The Searchers became successful, if they did exist.

There is to the best of my knowledge a whole CD released by Sequel, of The Remo Four. When I get time, I'll look up the refernce numbers etc.

Colin Manley, ex Swinging Blue Jeans, who regretfully passed away, a while back, was with The Remo Four for quite a while.

Talking of Colin Manley, there is a excellent CD called Concert For Colin, which has limited distribution, but features various sixties act's including The Searchers andin my view is one of the best "Live " Recordings of The Searchers I have heard.
