Custom Color/Design Pickguards

Post by rkbsound »

Is there any reason that RIC couldn't offer custom color/design pickguards? I'd think it would be cool to have some options other than white. Might not be a money maker, but it would certainly get some attention!

I had Don make me one for my '66 335, since it had to be custom drilled, but for newer Ricks, I would assume that the holes for each model would be the same from guitar to guitar year after year.

If RIC made them, then I could choose from a menu of offerings.

Try http://www.pickguardian.com for a good selection. Great service too.

I tried to see whether RIC would offer the 4004Cii with chrome hardware as it is readily available (see 4004L). They really don't do variations on a theme as some other makers do, such as Zon who offers a choice of chrome, black or gold hardware on some models. It would have been nice but not really a big deal. Since there are others out there that can do custom PGs, as you already know, I guess you'll just have to use them.
