Price on 77 4000?

What is a 1977 4000 worth? Its mapleglo.
I like that it does not have the binding.

According to the 2004 edition of the Vintage Guitar Price Guide a 1977 4000 is worth $1000-$1500 in excellent condition. You're talking about a S model.I think if ti's priced in that range you should grab it(assuming no mods)

It´s the one pickup version with treble pickup only. Dont know if it´s an "S" model...

Are they worth more or less than an equal 4001?

It's the rarity of the 4000 that makes them worth those prices. They're out there, but not as many as the 4001's.

Oh yeah, the 4000's were all "s" models. I really like the unbound necks on them. However, according to the Richard Smith book there was at least one deluxe 4000 made in 1961. It was made for Buck Owens' bass player.
