... but the best thing (to me) is that you're actually one of not too many not to speculate about the infamous late-85 topic (sorry, sorry). That is really great.
Eh... by the way, that's good to read about the thing but it's better to actually KNOW what you're reading about. So, can anyone tell me: where can i get it?! (no internet search results still)
Hungry Russian.

Hungry Russian.
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
Shenna: To my way of thinking, there is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing events in the history of the Searchers that may be controversial. When you are a well-known band, those who have an interest in your history are going to discuss events, whether they be interpreted as being for the better or for the worse. I still consider that we can do this in a friendly and sensitive manner, respecting all parties.

Roy: to be true, Michael did NOT misinterpret my comment, everything's fine. And yes, actually i did mean: where can i get the album.
Peter: right you are, this is 'only' show business. And discussing is good but... well, it happened so long ago... and my heart really goes to BOTH parties... But this is just my point of view, whatever. No offence meant.

Shenna: Absolutely no offence taken. Your comments are well thought out and I always find them to stimulate conversation. Which is really the whole point of this forum.
The breakup did indeed happen so very long ago and I concur that groups and avids must move on. I do find the events fascinating, however, as they provide a context within which to dicuss the Searchers music.

Searchers amongst my teenage favourite music. Still fond of them, but earnestly a little puzzled they are considered THIS big! But I'm very excited about this forum, and will love to read it regularly, and also contribute!
Einar,
that's really... ah... nice, nothing to add. The only problem is Russian post service: you can never be guaranteed that if you send something - in or out, it doesn't matter (not just a piece of paper), it would go directly to the addressee (not to somebody who works at the post office)... Unfortunately that's the way it goes. Well, i did never mean to hide my e-mail address, that's the same as it is in my profile ([email protected]). Thanks for the suggestion, anyway...
Peter: yes but... but i guess we'll never know the truth. We can discuss anything but there's always two points of view 'from inside'; this goes to the 'breakup' topic as well as to some other topics, including: when/by whom the band was founded; how did they get their name; how did they adopt the 12-string, etc. (and the truth must be somewhere in-between, i believe) Back to the topic in question, i suppose the only one who can tell the whole truth is Billy Adamson. The reasons are the following: a) apparently he didn't take part in the conflict so he's the only 'non-concerned'; b) he's not in the band anymore so he can tell anything without risks of being fired. However, somehow i doubt he ever does it...

I think this is a very good observation! But I share her pessimism. He didn't have an outspeaking habit before. So I can't see any hope for him being interested in contributing to any controversity..
But back to this John/Mike thing. It seems they could unite for Tony's funeral. So I guess the relation is not as tense as it was back when they split.
I don't know either, and am aware we're talking about living persons. So caution is needed. But could it be right to say that Mike is the more easygoing, compromising personality, who perhaps (at last) got tired of a more edgy, confronting, bossy attitude by his lifelong friend?
I'm McNally's man; but is John a "hard nail"?
This may be thin ice to walk upon. But I remember Peter recently defining what we should allow ourselves to discuss quite openly. And I feel this is inside these limits! (Remember: It seems you may utter ANYTHING about Paul and John, without being arrested. This is showbiz!).
