Is this original? Unbound neck with maple fretboard on a 360 MG BT. I have never seen one like it.

The radius on the top of the body is much smaller than I've seen before. The edge is almost closer to a 330 than a 360. Maybe this was a prototype or a custom one-off.

I'm thinking it's a stripped Tuxedo. I've seen some pretty ugly Tuxedos over the last couple of years- they aren't nearly as cool once they yellow. ...so I can see somebody stripping one.

I agree, the micro-dot fret markers are specific to the 360 Tuxedo series.

Interesting (yet logical) that a maple fretboard was used on these; I wonder if the 4003 Tuxedo, 4003 Blackstar, and 4003 Redneck have maple fretboards under their paint, too.

What is the value of this 360? All it really needs is a good refinish job.

The year is right, I think it's a Tuxedo, you can have Kenny run the number if you can get it ot be sure. Gary, all the models you mentioned do infact have maple fretboards.

Thanks dedgoat, I had a hunch that they would be.

By the way, Kenny asked for my Blackstar's serial number and I sent it to him. However, I haven't heard back from him, so I don't know where my A3 serial number falls in the series (my Blackstar came "certificate-less").

My A3 came up being #188 so I'm sure you're right there in the end of the run, Kenny also said that the records show 205 instead of 200. I know of one 5 string leftie, I wonder if they made any right handed 5 string Blackstars? Let me know what you find out though.

I bought this 360 and now that it has arrived, it does appear to be a refinished 360 SPC Tuxedo. I have emailed the serial number to Kenny Howes at RIC to see if this can be confirmed.

Nice, Kevin. Good find.

As far as the contour on the front of the body, there was a small batch of 360s and 370s made in '87-'88 that seem to have a much sharper contour like this one. Two of my early RMs (#51 and another, possibly in the low 100s) had this contour. But number 11 did not.

Kenny has confirmed that it is an original 360 Tuxedo model.
