The Howard Core Company makes high quality finish touch up kits suitable for conversion varnish finishes. Has anybody here had any experience with these products?
I'm going to buy the black kit to fix my Jetglo finish.

Perhaps you'd care to share the link? I'm only finding varnish touch-up kits myself on their web site. (Natural varnish, as used on a violin, and conversion varnish are incompatible- rather like oil and water.)

John, here is the link:
http://www.howardcore.com/Catalog/FinishProd/FinProd-home.htm
Click on Finishing Information, and at the bottom of that page is info for Retouching Varnish for oil and spirit finish. It has a solvent added for good adhesion and is meant to be dabbed on the damaged spot and then sanded and polished after drying. It uses a special thinner, which is probably a solvent and isn't meant for the other varnishes.
Click back to the original page and click on Touch-Up Varnish to get the colors and pricing. All colors can be mixed with one another, so a wide range of colors and tints can be achieved. Since it has a solvent in the formula (unlike the regular varnishes for finishing a complete instrument), I figured it might attach to conversion varnish, like super glue does.
