Chips on binding

I noticed tiny little chips on the binding of my 360. Just three of them all around the fifth fret. Took it in to the music store and the repairmen said he would put sealant on it. Is this "the end of the world as we know it?" It's not like the guitar is cracked but somehow I feel any little damage can only get worse.

Is there finish actually missing along the binding edge? is this only on the binding?and not on the wood itself?

If that is the case ,there is an adhesion problem.
The plastic was fine sanded past 220.I find that hard to imagine ,but the material was not rough for the clear to adhere to .This is then a problem when slightly bumped. The extra smooth surface has no where for the clear to 'bite' into and it has the ability to pop loose.

Touch up can be done using Cyanoacrylate type glues.DON'T use the kicker...let it harden on it's own .I use the fumes to kick off the glue ...it works fairly well .The wet ...bubles the glue and you heave to fix that .
