This guy's out of his mind.
Starting at over $1300.00 US?!?!?!

Hell, I even like the 3000 series, but get real.
I'm boycotting eBay - who's with me?

Hes not out of his mind, this is a UK auction. Thats a steep opening bid, but i just sold my worn 1973 4001 for $1524 on ebay.

I had to pay $1633 for my white 1991 4003 here in a london store. That was not a bargain ,but it was a fair deal

Owens right....UK prices are way above what you pay for Rics in the US.

Average price for a new 4003 here is £1000 ...thats $1,814.73.

Although that probably seems high to you, it's the way it is here...if you want one you have to pay that price because it will be the same wherever you go.

If you imported from the US you would have to pay customs charges when it gets here and that is very high...there wouldn't be any savings made.

Naturally the prices affect the second hand market too, especially models like the 3000 which are not seen here very much.

I paid $1,595.05 (£879.00) a couple of months ago for my new Montezuma Brown 4003 and felt it was a bargain!...other colours were $1,958.00 (£1079)...apparantly there was a promotion on the Montezuma Brown!....good result because I was expecting to pay more for it than the other colours.

I'm sure other European countries are the same as here with regards to prices and some probably pay more than the UK.

Wow. Sorry guys, I didn't realize it was that expensive to be a Ric fan over there. It seems that the Rick eBay madness is making everybody crazy.

Save your pennies...or shillings as the case may be.

all guitars are expensive in UK ....

hence I usually mail order form the USA or wait till I visit on holiday which thankfully happens to be soon !

It's not just guitars, its anything to do with them.
For example, Sansamp Bass Driver- approx £95 if overseas, in the UK you won't get much change from £200!!
Gah!! Makes my blood boil!
And don't even get me started on the price of bass strings....

I,ll be bringing back an ATA case to the U.K. in June to take one of my basses there back to the States. I could possibly be preparerd to bring a bass to the U.K. for someone if they wanted a new one or had bought one of e bay and didn,t want the shafting on the shipping/tax etc...

Are the Rick-o-Sound L-R outputs on a British Ric reversed from the American models?

Why do you ask? Is it because they drive on the other side of the road?
