Marc,

First off how much money do you want to spend? On top of the bid you're looking at approx $500 to get it back into playing condition. Personally without being able to physically inspect it I wouldn't mess with it. Something better will turn up.

I actually had a '77 4001 board a few months back that would have worked, but it's too much money unless you can do all the work yourself.
Wanna bet that the board popped off and ther truss rods are shot?

Unless you've got most of the parts that you would need lying around, and plan on doing all the work yourself, including the finish, I'd keep away from it.

why bother buying stuff like this on ebay, sure its a challenge but theres plenty of slightly worn out 4001's that are "all there"

There was a 4001 fretboard on Ebay twice within the last few months, it never sold.
