C64 - impressive

I had a chance today to play Marc Lazare's (Marc67) new c64MG, and compare it to his v63FG, 4001JG, 4001WHT, and to my 4003 Shadow, all using the same amp (G-K) and EQ settings.

I will not bore you with details, just wanted to say that I was very impressed with the c64. Until this morning I thought it was a gimmick, now I don't. It's a stunning instrument with a distinctive sound and feel, different from the v63 in many ways. The reverse headstock does not detract from its beauty. I found it hard to put away.

I'm still happy with my Shadow but I'm developing GAS for a v63/c64 quickly.

I don't know what year, Andy, it's not my bass. I hope Marc chimes in on this. It has a sweet sounding horseshoe. In the neck position I liked the c64's toaster better, but it's just a matter of personal tastes.

This Saturday morning meeting with Ilan was great - beautiful Shadow with amazing tone and action. My V63 was made in 2000 - I wish I would have bought another then...
And yes, my C64 gives me this feeling of falling in love...
