60's Rick Amps

Post by rshatz »

I recently acquired a 1968 Rickenbacker Jerry Byrd steel guitar. What Rick amp, if any, were made to match this instrument? Thanks.

Richard: Based on preliminary research, I can not find any information that would lead me to believe that there was a specific model of Rickenbacker amplifier that was designed for the Jerry Byrd steel guitar. Depending on the venue, in those days my Rickenbacker pick would have been the M-15 or M-22. We will have to ask Jerry Byrd what he used.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Peter,
I wasn't looking for a matching amp, just one that would be a likely choice to have been used with this instrument.
It would be interesting to know what Jerry Byrd used in that era.
