Is it just me, but is the pickguard totally wrong on this one, and the TRC look like it is fit on the headstock wrong? It just looks WEIRD.

Both pieces appear to be vintage reisue parts from RIC. This individual was probably not the one to add these pieces or he would probably have said so.

Changing back to a correct pickguard, there will be visible holes left.

The TRC is definitely huge for that "slim" headstock, but the vintage guard doesn't look too bad there IMHO.

Looks cool. I like the vintage pickguards.

I'd prefer the original one. This one looks like its so big its hanging off the back. And as Ilan said there will be visible screw holes if you tried to change it back.

The pickguard definately looks oversized for the bass especially in the area around the control knobs over by the input jackplate.
Plus, there's to small of gap between the p/u surround and the edge of the pickguard in the area underneath the strings. And the neck p/u is located 1/2" from the edge of the fretboard which is not correct for this vintage.
Dane is right, the pickguard is not original and appears to be from a vintage reissue.

Looks all wrong - pickguard, TRC, neck pickup spacing. Seems whoever did this used V series replacements. Also, noticed that the plastic end of the toggle switch is wrong.

The controls are not in the correct position either.

Yeah it has a V63 pickguard and truss rod cover, the owner said he bought it like that and didn't realize. It would have been a real nice bass too, nice shape for a 74.
