I really miss a band with a good 12string tone in the charts today.

Wasn't it stolen at some point???? I seem to remember that as the deal.....as far as bands go today(I'm not sure if they use Ricks) but Sixpence none the Richer in their song 'Kiss Me' is right in the pocket---what a great arrangement and very slick. Twelve String all over that one.

Six Pence does use a Ric. I think its a 330. Not sure if it is a 6 or 12.

Don't they use a seagreen 330/6? The twelve string he's holding is a Fender.

Thanks Peter; So I guess these guys use a Fender electric XII after all??
The song that the singer for Sixpence (Elaine Nash) has released called 'Need To Be Next To You'(its on a movie soundtrack) has twelve string on it....dont know if any other members play on this track....

I have seen Sixpence live many times from the beginning through out the years as well as many line up changes. The main songwriter, Matt, never played a Rick live from what I saw. He was all about Voxes and Strats. The second guitar player in the band plays a Turquoise 360. I don't think he played on any of the records.

After finding this thread I thought I'd give my copy of "Sixpence None the Richer" (their self-titled release) another listen.... It sure sounds like Rickenbacker to me! Incredible, smooth sounding guitar work and Leigh Nash's one-of-a-kind vocals make for some hauntingly beautiful sounds.... Very dreamy, but a little low-key compared to my usual listening fare!

I saw them last Feb. The rhythm/lead guitarist was playing a Turquoise 330 about 50% of the time. A Rick might have looked better on their singer(Leah Nash). Nice curves should compliment (You know what I mean Nuge Nuge....) I never really paid attention to them much until I heard their lastest album, it is pretty good..

They have a great cover of the Crowded House song "Don't Dream It's Over" on that album that is absolutely fantastic--wonderful Ric tones all over! I don't own the disk myself yet, but will buy it for that song alone! I hope the rest of the album is as good....

Finally bought my copy of this album....Definitely worth the wait! Pure ear candy, need I say more? I'm sure I will wear this disk out by the time I can sing (and play) every song by heart!
