Mersey Beat (the paper)

I´m sure that all of us own a copy of the book 'Mersey Beat. The beginnings of The Beatles', by Bill Harry. I started collecting the original papers years ago. Last week, I came across a batch of 11 issues, from the summer of 1962 to January 1963. Bought them all, it was a bargain (I have seen single copies of this paper going for more than 50 - 60 pounds). Do you think it will be of interest if I post here scans of some of the more obscure original articles? I could do it in this thread, if you all like the idea.
(P.S: I own to this Forum a rare picture of The Escorts! I won´t forget about this).

Ha, ha, good one, never heard it before! If I could translate it into spanish, it will make a good remark or joke (but I can´t: in spanish it doesn´t make sense). Thanks, Jerry. I think I just needed a excuse to post another 'funny face'. I´ll get back as soon as I get the old papers.

I 'd love to see any and all scans of the more obscure articles (ie: non-Beatles) from that paper. That was what I found the most interesting in the Mersey Beat reprint book when it first came out in '77, and what got me started investigating what the other bands sounded like.

Miguel, do you live in the UK? Where did you score those papers? (I only own one original copy, from the summer of '64. Prior to '64 they weren't available here in the USA.)

No, Glenn, I´m a spaniard and I live in Spain, although I have been in the isles several times and my grand-grandfather´s grandfather (ough!) might have been english! (this a story running in my family for ages)Image)

I have been collecting british music papers from the beat days since a long time. I´m very found of the 'Record Mirror' and the 'Melody Maker', and of course, I love the old issues of 'Music Echo' and 'Mersey Beat'. 'Mersey Beat'´s back issues from 1961 to early 1963 are extremely hard to find. Most of the copies were distributed locally, and many were destroyed after the reading. I´m in contact with some british dealers who charge very high prices for copies in less than a decent condition. I use to look at EBay, too. I was very fortunate last week, when I saw that batch of 11 issues from 1962-1963. I won the auction, final price was 207 USD... for all of them! I haven´t received the papers yet, so I hope the condition will be fine. The seller said that they are in a fine state of conservation.
