It sure is. They are approaching and in some cases exceeding the prices for some series of signature guitars.

Sorry, but I think that price is nuts! Whoever buys that V is going to be able to buy a C for about $1200. cheaper.....

Looks like the above auction may have generated some interest in selling of these. The starting bid is a bit higher than the first one, but less than the selling price. Also based on the above auction there should be at least one interested party at the starting price.

Geez, what'll anyone give me for my '67 370-12 Mapleglo[it has been professionally refretted and refinished in natural]??
3K for a V64??? No, the C 63s aren't here yet, but Those will be had for cheaper!!!!And new, no less!!

I've got a 1992 360/12V64 and having read this thread, I'm definitely gonna hang on to it (for now at least). I had an order for the new C series model but I ended up cancelling it due to no firm delivery date, that was November last year and as far as I am aware there is still no news on the new one. It looks like the absence of the C series guitar may be having an effect on the second-hand price of the Vs.

This past weekend I bid on a 66 360 and was outbid by about 50 bucks (by a dealer). It went for just over 2 grand. How can a reissue go for more than the original?

It guess the 12 string reissues are as close as most of us will get to an original 360/12OS Jerry. I would not have predicted that the 360/12V64 would have become such a hot item.

For those who are interested, I know where you can probably get a 360/12V64 Jetglo for $1500. US.

I think the arrival of the C model will have some effect on the 360/12V64 prices, what it is will be interesting to see. However even more interesting I think is what will happen to the 360/V64 six string prices, as from what I understand there will be no 6 string C series 360 model.

I think that the 360/12V64 is achieving a kind of rarified status where the insane auctions like we saw this week are feeding the concept of the "scarcity" and collectibility of these. There are a LOT of them around. It is no Limited Edition. However, I predict that even after the c63 comes out, the status of the 360/12v64 will remain "rarified" and prices will stay high. Possibly on the same level or even maybe a little higher than the c63 in the long run. Older the better, in terms of value.

Probably some truth there, Bob, but can we not consider that, for the first time,a new guitar like the C63/12 is going to be out there, and that not since 1963, has Rick made such a "correct" guitar??Without ever having even seen one yet, and basing my opinion solely on the total nuts detail on the C 58 Lennon, I predict the C63 12 is going to surpass any V you've seen.
Of course, there is a waiting line on those now, and I can wait[do I have a choice?]It'll be interesting to see how things turn out...
