I'm selling off a couple that I don't really use, I like the 4004 but it isn't my cup of tea.The 4000 is a killer bass by the way, the refin is OK, but tonewise it's impressive.

Kendall....no serial numbers in the description? You should be ashamed of yourself! After all we talk about here wishing so many auctions would post them? Image
That 4000 is a beauty! Shame that you have to part with some of them...

no mute, no ric-o-sound ... now that's a nice Ric ... cool color and nice black pickguard ... it would look cool with a black bridge and a black pickup surround and black machine heads ... I like the 4004CI you are selling even more ...

Steve both basses were listed with their year of manufacture, I never post serial numbers with auctions.

I think it's OK not to put serial numbers with the auctions if you're sure of the year.I sell alot of "others" that I pick up. Not knowing the year, I post the serial number and let people figure out for themselves.

Jeff, yep black is beautiful. I was surprised when John Hall mentioned that the BT was discontinued for lack of interest. At least I think the reason he gave.

No offense meant, Kendall, just that in this case you know what you're talking about...I was mostly kidding because we so often wonder if they are legit. I KNOW yours are.

I think part of the reason black trim was discontinued was because the black coating was not as protective and durable as chrome ... black trim parts are more prone to chiping, flaking, rusting, corroding, etc ... from a quality control point of view black trim is a little problematic ...

But as an owner of 4 black trim Rics ... I must say I love the look ...

Non taken Steve! Too many theives cruise ebay these days you can't take chances. But I wonder how many emails I'll get asking what the #'s are to verify the production date...

That 4000 came out nice Kendall, I'd like white trim better though.

Same with cameras. Chrome bodies do not brass like black bodies do.

It was originally going to be all black, but Jeff's red 5 string did me in!

The innards of a 1957 Combo guitar. Here's a very interesting concept - a horseshoe pickup with two coils, one for treble and the other for bass. Not a bad idea for the 4000 Model bass, to be sure.
