That Badass bridge looks like it's on a plate the size and shape of the original bridge. Maybe a "no extra holes" adaptor?

Ted Staberow who owns that 4002 says that no permanent modifications were made when the Badass bridge was installed...which is nice to hear.
It's in the 'Pictures of your Rickenbacker bass' thread:

The 4002 sounds like a 4001 with some extras. There is a depth and clarity that the 4001 simply does not have. The low-end is more pronounced without being muddy. I have played a lot of Rush on this bass. It can sound remarkably like a Jazz Bass as well. I like to play Jaco's Portrait of Tracy on my 4002. There is a harmonic that requires fretting the A string at the 2nd fret and striking the harmonic at the 6th fret. I can barely reach it on my Jazz but the 33 1/4 inch scale of the Rick brings it into reach quite nicely. If you can find one you will probably keep it the rest of your life. It is a truly wonderful bass in every respect. Maybe some day Rickenbacker will reissue it.
