Just reading this article, I could feel my hackles rise and I wanted to throw my PC out the window... so I doubt I'll buy it. But an interesting view, I guess, if I try to look at it without my own Beatles biases.

Well, the author might make some Beatle-bashing money. But not from me.

It's amazing how much people read into things. Just enjoy the music!

This guy is really making a mountain out of a molehill. There probably was competition between the two to a degree. But they also worked together a lot as well, especially in the early days, and the results were extraordinary to say the least!!!

Why do they keep DOING this to me!!!
I must have 200 different Beatle related books covering EVERY angle....but I WON'T buy THIS one!!! I WON'T!!!
.....although I must say , this angle is intriguing....

I think it's this kind of dude who inspired John to write 'Glass Onion' isn't it?
Also, can anyone remember the quote where John talks about some high-falutin' music reviewer talking in highly technical musical terms about how the Beatles music is constructed, and John basically says he has no idea what the guy is on about!

Rob,
You probably refer to the comment by a musical high-brow of classical background about a song containing Aolian Cadences (spelling?) on With the Beatles. Lennon said in the 1980 Playboy Interview, that even after all these years, he still had no idea what an Aolian Cadence was.
