Has RIC ever said if the C series instruments are a limited run, or are they considered to be standard production models that will available for years?

They are not a limited production item and will be produced as long as there is a market for them. The "V" Series models, however, are to become more of a rotating series with different model representing various eras coming in and going out of the line-up.

Does this mean possibly that there could be a 4001V69? It could be cool to have a checkerboard bound brand new bass? Mr. Hall, your thoughts?

Thanks for the clarification John! I thought the V series were being phased out, so the possibility of new V series instruments on the horizon is very exciting. I recall in another thread, you were about to give up some info regarding upcoming news from RIC, but somebody rubbed you the wrong way before you had the chance. New V series models perhaps? Hopefully including a bass?

I think that was me....

Hopefully Mr.Hall has forgiven me and will tell us soon that there will be a 4001v68/69 and will let me buy the first one off the line.... Image

I know there are those here that would think it is a waste of time to come out with another "re-issue" type bass, but.....I think there are MORE of us that would love to see a v68/69 and those vintage appointments (insert drool here)....I am so hoping.....

John, that is great news about the V-series. I think there will be many excited cutomers anticipating the next V units.

BTW, the bass player in our band, "The DailTones," plays a Ric bass and last night he brought in his '84 (I think that's the year) 360V64 12-string. The neck is incredible and seems slightly thinner than my CW 6-string. The color has darkened and he replaced the white plastic with gold and put oven knobs on it. It is a stunning looking guitar and the string spacing seemed to be no problem for me. Of course, I was playing it upsdide down.
