Sweet, I have seen that picture before. Look at how young he is. Must be early in the touring years.

John Deacon,s bass playing has always been overlooked IMO. I read years ago he couldn,t get on with the Ric. Hey, there,s a lot of those people out there that can,t....I,m a big Queen fan. Their stuff from the mid 70,s is simply brilliant in terms of composition. The harmonies, lyrics and 4 very talented musicians created a sound that we haven,t heard since. When I listen to the stuff out there today I don,t know whether to laugh or cry, as nobody is even close...IMO...

My two boys , one graduated this year from college, one will be a junior in college, they BOTH love QUEEN's music.....
Funny thing is , neither one of them have ever seen Queen in concert or on a video...they just loved the music.....I remember when they were little and playing "Fat bottomed girls" and "Bicycle" for them the first time..... LOL

JD remains one of my favorite players. I loved how he could turn on the chops any time he wanted, but
usually chose not to.

He did from time to time play a Music Man Stingray. He had a sunburst with the white oval pickguards instead of the black. It was around '76 to '77 when I fist saw him play one live. I didn't see it that much though.

Yeah I saw them around the time of Bohemian Rhapsody, I can't remember whether he played P's or Musicmans, I think he had P basses then, fretted and fretless. He was a good bass player.

It's got Grovers and a toaster on it, must be a 73 or earlier, can't see the binding or treble PU.

Thats looks like an early appearance on Top of The Pops. The U.K. version of American Bandstand. About a 73/74 episode where for many many years the bands used to mime. I saw them at the Lyceum in 79 on the crazy tour of London. Playing all the small halls instead of the barns. Best gig I ever went to. A small 1500 seater that had the crowd packed like sardines and hanging over the upstairs balconies. I was right at the front and the place was so hot dozens passed out before they come on. They blew the place apart that night. Met Brian and John after the gig. They stopped and talked for some 15 mins to fans outside. Very cool of them I thought.
