I have been very curious to try these strings on my 4003 and want to know if any of you had a chance to experiment with them on a Ric 4003 Bass?

I just ordered a set but want to know any tricks on how to properly install them on the Bass as well from any of you who experienced it. Let me know !!!

Are those the ones that have an exposed core on the ball end? If they are they need to be extra long to accomodate a Ric bass tailpiece so that only the core will go over the saddles, otherwise you are defeating the purpose.

They have adjustable ball ends and was told they would fit in a 4003 bridge, but I will try and see by myself !!!!
They seem a little hard to adjust correctly at first glance.

They still make those, huh? I tried them back in the mid '70s. Sorry I can't remember the details, though IIRC, the balls were pretty large so you may have some trouble with the recessed tailpiece location for them. Good luck!

The other thing you will have to do is raise the bridge significantly to get your action back to where you were with your previous strings.
