I don't recall if I saw mention of it in a thread here somewhere or not, but the Borders bookstores near me are closing out the new paperback version of this book for $7.99. This the reprint of the book by Mark Lewisohn. At the stores in my area it has been on the shelves with the regular books, not up front with the other closeout books.
I just thought some of you folks would be interested, especially for $8.

One of my all-time favorite books. It is a great reference tool, and can be read over and over without getting boring.
Fantastic pictures and great info on all of their sessions.

Thank you Jeff! I've been wanting a copy for quite a while. My nearby Borders had 35 copies but couldn't find any at first. None were out on the shelves.

Jeff,
Good call! Thanks for the pointer. I picked one up today. My experience was similar to James'; the computer said they didn't have any, but I found about 20 copies on the bargain rack.

At these clearance prices one has to wonder what new work might be on the horizon for Lewinsohn.

I love that book. Just put on a fab four cd and read about it as you listen. Or not. It great either way. Lewinsohn's done a great job and if he does have "Something New" in the works, I'm standing in line.

I read that Lewinsohn has recently signed a 3 book deal to compile the ultimate Beatles' biography.
Version 1 is targeted for 2007 and vol 3 will be released in 2012.
I agree - The Beatles Recording Sessions is a great resourse.

I'm glad some of you guys could find these at your local Borders, too. I was really surprised because I had heard that it was reprinted in softcover, but I hadn't even seen it there at full price.
