Just got a new 330 with Hi-Gains and the "curve" set by the factory on the pole pieces is too pronounced and doesn't match the bridge saddle radius. This results in the G string sounding way too loud when compared to the rest of the strings and the top & bottom E too quiet.

Is it possible to adjust the pole pieces on new Hi-Gains...?

Though not meant to be adjusted, the polepieces on post-1990 high-gain pickups can be raised (but not lowered) and even removed with no risk of damaging the pickup in any way. In the case of your new 330, raising the 6th (= low E) polepiece a bit and switching the 1st and the 3rd polepieces is the way to go. Use a pair of pliers to twist polepieces counterclockwise and raise them. This should be easier with the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th polepieces, as they do not seat on the top surface of the pickup bobbin. Advise if you need some further tips on this subject.

A pair of pliers? Gee, what will the pickups look like after that?

I would use duct tape on the bobbin to protect it from marks and then use two small, flat-bladed screwdrivers to work the pole up a bit from underneath. I have done this successfuly in the past.
