Need information on cases for the Rick 360

Hi everyone, I'd really appreciate some help. I have a rick 360 on its way to me but I do not at the moment have a case for it. I am moving back to the UK in a few weeks and will obviously need a case for it. but the Rickenbacker one seems to go for around 200 bucks (as far as I can see anyway) and quite frankly at the moment I dont have the money for that as well! Are there any other cases that are cheaper that would be suitable? I am going to try and get it on the plane with me too as I have seen what the neanderthals at LAX do to beautiful instruments if given a chance. I value your opinions, so please write back!
yours
Ben

Ben: My two cents may not sit too well with you. I realize that the SKB cases for Rickenbackers are in the vicinity of $200 US, however, a Rickenbacker guitar in two pieces, if it can be repaired, will set you back a whole lot more and it will never be quite the same. I would contact
Mike Parks and get the best price possible on a good case. The fact that you are traveling abroad makes this even more important. In the few short weeks remaining you may get a used case for somewhat less but I would do it up right.

Peter, are you refering to the molded plastic case that Rickenbacker offers at present...? Is SKB the vendor for these cases? I am thinking about getting one for my 370/12 'cause the orig. silver case it came in is somewhat tired....and I would feel better if it had more protection when I carry it around...

I bought one of the molded SKB cases used from a guy on the NG a year ago, for like $125, I think, and I sent it through airline baggage with my '67
370-12 in it.Seems to work fine as a "road" case.
I like it.

Does this mean NEW Ric's don't come with hardcases? I thought that was included in the sale!

I was the guy that sold the molded Rickenbacker/SKB case to Dr. and I have one more available for the 330/360 type guitar. Email me at
[email protected] if interested.

Kevin: All new Rickenbackers come with a case and as far as I am aware, the slae price of all new Rickenbackers includes a case. I believe that the comments made above pertained to a used instrument. Check with customer service at
[email protected] for the details.
