Last night I was cleaning gunk off my strings, and I unintentionally knocked the low E and D strings out of their nut slots. When I put them back into place and retuned the guitar, I noticed that there seems to be more tension on the strings, like I went up a string gauge. I know Ricks aren't exactly known as great lead guitars, but I find it very difficult now to bend strings and I'm only using .009s. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Its a 330 6 string BTW.

Walrus: Make sure the bridge did not move from its original position when the strings came out of the slots. Check to see that it is level and that the height adjustment screws did not move or come out of the holes in the bridgeplate. Otherwise, I can't see why you should have noticed any change with regard to the tension on the strings.
