Dear all:
A long time since my last post here! Well, I have been so terribly busy lately that I couldn´t even visit the forum to save my life!

I just wanted to tell everyboby that there is some nice 'Iron Door Club' info in the 'Iron Door Sessions' Cd. Surely you all knew this, but, well, just in case...

Thanks, Peter! Sure, I´ll post the excerpts here tomorrow, there is some nice info (and the Cd is superb, of course.)

P.S: By the way, Peter... Have you received my e-mails concerning the 'Searchers Book Project'?

Here are the excerpts from the 'Iron Door Sessions' Cd. Peter Doggett, author of the liner notes:

"Geoff Hogarth knows the 'Iron Door' better than anyone (...) he was an original co-founder of the club. Geoff says: "We have been to see The Cavern before Alan Sytner bought it in 1956, but we thought that it was too small. Then, the same real estate agent who showed us The Cavern offered us another property, which we bought it in 1957, though the club didn´t open until 1960 (...) we wanted it to be a cross between the more luxurious Mardi Grass and The Cavern"

From the same booklet, John McNally: "The Iron Club was very similar to The Cavern, actually. Maybe the stage at the Iron Door wasn´t as good. (The club) was slighty bigger (than The Cavern.)

The 'Iron Door' was run by Les Ackerley, after Hoggarth was ousted in mid-1962. Also, it seems that in 1963-1964, the club had its own newsletter, called 'The Iron Door News'.

Oh, by the way, 'Castle' have just released a Cd with all the existing recordings of Tony Jackson & The Vibrations, Tony Jackson Group et al. It´s really exciting, Tony had a fantastic voice.
