Stringing a trapeze tailpiece

What's the conventional way to string a trapeze tailpiece? I assume the strings come up from the bottom so that the ball ends are below the holes. Does anyone insert the strings from the top and route the strings beneath the tailpiece to get a sharper angle at the bridge?
Thanks.

I string mine so the ball ends are on top and the strings pass under the trapeze.

The only way you can string it is from the top, where you can see the ball ends. I've tried stringing it from underneath, but the trapeze can't support itself that way. Try it and you'll see what I mean.
