360/6 intonation problems

I have a '99 360 that i'm having problems intonating.

When I turn the adjustment screws to move the saddles forward, the screws just back out of the bridge and the saddles don't move.

I can go the other way, and move the saddles back fine. But trying to turn the screws to slide the saddle forward, the saddles stay stationary and the screws thread out of the bridge and come out the back.

Any suggestions? I've tried pushing them back in place with a pair of plyers, but they don't seem to want to slide...i'd rather not try too hard and damage something.

I had the same problem with my 330. The tech I took it to (Same guy who Mike Parks uses) told me to just go ahead and shove them back in. So I have - and no problems. BUT - my bridge is not your bridge, so take that into consideration!

Nick: Loosen the string you want to intonate. Loosen the screws on the saddles a few turns. Then use the allen key to push in the screws so that the heads meet the bridge. They will move ahead without much difficulty.

Over the course of time, sometimes the strings loose tension and they do not force the saddle screws forward. Also the threads of the screws become dirty. Loosening the strings helps considerably.

Give this technique a whirl and let me know how you make out.

When I encounter a stubborn saddle like this, I loosen the string enough to move it temporarily to an adjacent saddle and then use a screwdriver as a lever (between the saddle and the bridge body) to put some force on the saddle as I am turning the adjuster screw.
