I want to know which is the better model, personally, I think the 660-12 is because of the wide neck and the fact that a 12-string saddle and vintage pick-ups come stock....I know you can get vintage pick-ups put on the 360-12, but my GOD!!! tell me that neck is ment for 12 strings!!! way to thin!!! not to mention the fact that it comes with a 6-string saddle, so there is no way you can perfectly intonate your strings...and I just don't think that 12 strings should be put on a guitar that is meant for 6...Please....Give me your thought!

I think you answered your own question. I tried a 381/12V69 before I got my 660/12. The wider neck made a big difference in the comfort zone.

In the end it is not a matter of which is better, but which is better for you.

I agree, for me the 660/12 won out because of the wider neck, 12 string saddle, vintage pickups and the non-"R" tailpiece. I have no regrets.

Well, I gotta weigh in a little here. There is something not-of-this-earth special about the 360/12. It's not like ANY other 12 string, that is certainly true, and the neck does take some getting used to (having long, skinny, McGuinn fingers helps).

Some folks seem to think the double notched, six saddle bridge adds to the "janglyness." I'm not one of those, I replaced mine with a 12 saddle job.

...But, it's all of those "quirks" that help make it the unique instrument it is. Just my $0.02

I don't disagree, Joe, but if one can't play it comfortably that's not going to make a sale. By the same token, the 660/12 also has a unique sound to my ears, it has wowed folks at every gig I've used it. My wish was a Carl Wilson 360/12 but it just didn't work for me, hence the 660/12.

I own two 360/12's... A 1966 Fireglo and a 1991 Mapleglo with Black binding & trim and a chrome "R" tailpiece... I agree that it takes some getting use to the neck but I wouldn't trade them for anything - what a sound when I use the Ric-O-Sound thru two Fender Blues Jr. amps!!! It's hard to believe that 1/8" makes that big of a difference but it does... Hence I am looking for a 660/12 to play everyday but I want to try to find one in mint condition in a discontinued color... I have also replaced the bridge on my 1991 with a 12 saddle bridge... The 1966 came with a 12 saddle bridge (I've owned the 1966 Ric since I was 15 and it's MINT+++)...

It's all personal preference. I have owned both a TP Limited and a 360...and while the Petty obviously has the better suited bridge and wider neck, I still just like the sound and the body of the 360. I sold the Petty.
