I have put a few articles together about the Iron Door Club in the 1960s and was wondering if you could take it for a brief test drive. I realize that it is not everyone's cup of tea, however, I would be grateful if you could take it through its paces to see how it functions for you. You can find it here.

Intersting! Add me to the list of people that never heard of the Iron Door before.

Nice site- no technical problems except that the "Home" button (History Page) doesn't return one to the sites home page but rather opens up a new browser window to another of your websites.

Very interesting - good to hear about the "others" on the Liverpool scene. A period of music history so exciting...Love reading the actual participants accounts... Sept. 3, an "Iron Door" concert? Anyone we know going?

Very interesting reading. Too bad it was torn down... That's progress for you (dripping with sarcasm)

Yeah I'd never heard of it before, it was nice to read about it.
The site works well, I think I found a typo tho...
On "irondoorclub8.html" were you say "...renewed interest in the history of the Iron Door will will enable it to rise from..." I don't think will should be there twice ;)
I like the background too!

Thanks to all of you for your review and for checking this out. I am still trying to find a photo of a Rickenbacker on stage at the Iron Door. Surely someone out there has a photo.

you have concentrated on the liverpoopl side but manchester is only down the road and i am sure that the club would have had bands from outside of the pool as surely it wasn't that isolated from the rest of the country that only locals played ? i have never heard about this club either ? one small critisim you mention it as the iron door and this pops up frequently, would the club have been known as " the door" to locals as i think this sounds a little more personal which makes for an easier read ? my opinion only... fantastic stuff.. i love this period and feel that there is a lot missing that needs to be said. one thing i would love to see is a list of records that were produced by liverpool bands maybe who were associated with this club or in general as well as info about the clothes that were worn... i am intrigued...

Antony: These are excellent points and the site is really just beginning to take shape. My brief research and limited knowledge of the times certainly reveals the importance of surrounding groups in shaping the reputation of "The Door." It was indeed referred to by many as the Door and the more personal nature of this term is not to be overlooked. It also parallels the single-termed "Cavern."

Thanks for your fine comments and terrific suggestions. Stay tuned.
