Nice spread Ronn!
How's that Hamer 12? I love Tom Petersson & Doug Pinnick. Always wanted an 8 or a 12. Are they worth the hassle?

Chris, I play a Hamer 12 as well, and I love it! Sounds like thunder! If you love Tom Petersson's playing and sound (as I do), then you have to try one! Simply put, my band needs no rhythm guitarist, and the lead guitarist tries to cut thru it. It's HUGE.

I was just learning to play when "Heaven Tonight" was released with the picture of the first 12-string bass on the sleeve. Had to have one. I had a '67 Hagstrom 8-string at the time. My first Hamer was black. The band I was in when I got it('94)was a 3-piece and the 12-string was a big part of our sound. So I got the one pictured(Salmon Blush), and they were all I used in that band. We released one CD and I used the 12-string only. It was in Blockbuster throughout the US and we we sold a lot in Japan and Chile. Toured a lot, only with 12s, always attracted lots of attention. I used a Mesa Boogie rig. Sold my black one after the band broke up. A few years later I was in a nice guitar shop here and I saw it. The owner asked if that was my old bass, I said it was. Next time I was in there it had a "Celebrity Owned" sign on it. Ha!
PS: I only ever liked the short-scale ones. Never liked the long ones.

Ronn, I always loved the B12S also, yours looks SWEET! I'm always keeping an eye out for one of those, unfortunately I am playing a B12 Chapparal right now, waiting for one of those to fall into my hands! But, the suffering is not that bad! I actually love the sound of mine...

Steve, it's really sweet. Nice maple showing thru an orange/pink stain. As I said above, the finish is called Salmon Blush. Weighs about 12 Lbs. How heavy is yours?

Chris, I forgot to mention, I've met Doug a couple of times. They're from a little town a couple hours from here(Austin)called Katy,TX. He's a lefty too, and a real nice guy.

Yeah, he's great. I love Kings X - haven't got around to any of his solo Poundhound stuff yet...
Apparently Yamaha is builiding him custom 12 stringers now...

Chris, my Beatle band has gigs that Friday and Saturday. The Friday one ends at 11PM but the Saturday one starts at 10PM and goes to 1:30AM. It's a great bar called Hanover's if you got nothing better to do after the fest shuts down at 10.

Ronn, not sure how heavy it is, but I think yours is probably heavier. I would guess about 10 lbs.
