Pete Way with a Rick?!

Post by loendmaestro »

This one is mostly for Steve Cooper...

Check out this pic of Pete Way from UFO with a 4001. He's mostly known as a Thunderbird player - in fact he's half the reason I have a T-bird (Pascal Humbert from 16 Horsepower is the other).

But I thought this was pretty cool nonetheless.
Never seen him with a Rick before.

Gotta be EARLY '74 as both Michael Schenker & Paul Chapman are in the band...

Chris,
Very cool pic! I always associated him with the Thunderbird as well. I KNEW he had good taste!

Great picture Chris. I e.mailed Leo Lyons, who produced the early UFO albums and played bass for Ten Years After, and asked if that was his Ric in the picture. Leo lent Pete Way a few of his basses for the early recordings and Leo recorded "I 'd Love to Change the World" using his 4001. But alas that is not Leo's Ric. Pete used Leo's Jazz bass with UFO and his P bass for "Waysted" . Thought I'd throw in some useless Rock trivia.
