30 years older! Mine's a vintage 1972 4001.

And I agree with you - There's something rather special about the Burgundyglo finish. It's in a class of its own. Best Rick finish ever. Image

I have a March 74 4001 in burgundyglo. A classy colour, I think! The binding has yellowed, but the scratchplate remains white.

I do like burg and I've been looking around but without success. There has been one on Ebay Canada a couple of times; first time I bid on it but it got yanked off by the Ebay Trust Dept (so I guess the clues are there!). Came up again under a (n allegedly) different vendor over the w/e then just as mysteriously vanished again. Shame, it looked in good nick

My one looks great i think, tho i must say that it had the worst set up i have ever seen on a new rick, The nut was sky high and the saddles very badly cut.

Its a good player now tho!Image

Actually, that Canadian Burg is still on - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3748103921&fromMakeTrack=true#ebayphotohosting

But I must confess to misgivings. If it was pulled the first time, what's changed?

My first Ric was a '78 4001 BG, I miss it a lot.

Burgundy is my favorite Ric finish, I wish it was still around. Ah well...

Owen,

No you are not the only one who has a 4003 year 2002 in Burgundy colour !!!! I simply love mine and probably the only one in Canada who has one from that year.
