I guess intonation wasn't a big issue in the 50's.

I don't think intonation with flats is as specific as rounds. If you listen to most of the stuff from the 60's, a lot of that flatwound stuff is "almost" out of tune.

It was on eBay not long ago with these pics. I saved one of them as a wallpaper. The bass is refinished/restored and the pickguard is a replica.
