Rick Relic

As a new owner of a JG 360, I wondered if anyone has a Rick that has a "Relic" finish. By this I mean a guitar whose finish and hardware shows wear and tear and use. As a longtime Fender player, I know what will happen to any Fender product, buy I've never seen a Rick that shows excessive wear. I'm talking about SRV #1 guitar wear and tear! Is the finish the reason that Rick's hold up better? I would love to see some pictures of your guitars that show some relic. BTW, I think a guitar looks good a little beatup!

Peter Banks' RM has been pretty thoroughly disastered:

Click on "the Images" and go to the Peter Banks section to see it in it's beat up glory.

I saw a local band a few years ago who's bassist was playing a 4003 that looked as if it had been through a war. I don't have any pics, but he told me that was the original owner and that it was the only bass he had played in years, it sounded killer!!

My 67 4005 has some scuffs on it. Looks like the kind that Fender "manufactures", but they are real scuffs. At least I think so, they were there when I bought it in the early '80's. When I photograph the guitar, it looks pretty and shiny. I don't mind them at all, it adds character.

My '66 335 looks like it's been to Hell and back. A big crack, a small crack, dings a plenty, scratches, etc... Perhaps that's why it was only $550 (1985).

Like any good guitar, though, it still rocks and I wouldn't trade it for the world!
