I checked out "The Best of Bowie" double DVD last night, and it's got some cool footage of Trevor Bolder with his 4001 circa Alladin Sane. And dig those white chops!

I've read elsewhere that his 4001 was a jetglo model, but in the performance clips and videos it looks more like an Azureglo. Just thought I'd throw that in there.

The photo of him in Richard Smith's book shows a white 4001. That was in his Uriah Heep days.

He is really know for the Gibson EB-3 he used in The Spiders From Mars. That went on auction in England this year and was passed on $80,000US -- for a GIBSON!

Hes a Fender man through and through now. I nearly bought one of his old Precisions a few years back from a local music store. I didnt because it was fairly battered up and it had a J pickup quite badly installed in the bridge position. I seem to remember they hiked the price a fair bit because he was a well known player. We lived right near each other and he used to walk past my house every evening (when not on tour) with his little Yorkshire Terrier. Nice Guy.

Here's Mr Boulder cira 73.

That's not a white Ric and it has full width MOPs, (so it's pre-73) not sure if the binding is chequed, or solid. I'd say the colour is either Jetglo, or Burgandy both were available

If you look under his pickng hand the cover is tightly curved leading me to think this is an original horseshoe. You can also see either the thumbrest or the screw holes for the same. Looks like it also has 1/2 inch spacing

Fantastic bassist, I've also seen him use an EB3.

It was years and years ago. I reckon it could have been 15 or so years since.
