I wonder where the price on this will end up. A $4700 BIN might be a bit enthusiastic for a refinished bass that has a few replacement parts. She sure looks pretty though...

I just wish it had the baby headstock... I'd probably go for it, then.

I'd give my right leg for that bass; can't imagine Kendall would take it though

I thought that $4700 was a bit steep too...

Henny, you can,t get a baby headstock on a 60,s bass..if you want one you,ve got to large it my son!!
This is a great looking piece, and like most 60,s Ric basses, is essentially going to be artwork for someone who is going to pay close to that BIN amount. Sometimes you never know what is going on with E-Bay.
Viewed from a Euro or Japanese perspective with the dollar still weak this could still be an attractive buy. I think 2 out of the last 3 68,s have gone east. You just don,t see many 60,s 4001,s for sale. The 4005 series seems more common and I,ve seen more of these for sale over the years.

The reserve is considerably less than that price. If you email me I will tell you the reserve. Kendall says he is willing to end the auction early if anyone here is interested in swinging a deal.

Kendall says to tell you all that the reserve is $3500. That is one damn fine bass. I wish I could afford it right now.....

"Henny, you can't get a baby headstock on a 60's bass..if you want one you've got to large it my son!!"
Hehe, yea, I know.
Ergo, I wish it was an early 70s Ric instead, cause for me, the quintessential Ric look is the skunk stripe and baby 'stock.
Still a gorgeous bass however. 4.7k is a bit pricey, but... it's hard to resist.

Back in about June ( when I had the cash ) this bass would have been mine.

If someone would buy my 4000 and my V63 reissue I'd seriously consider going for it; also assuming of course that Kendall would ship it to the UK, and that some guy with loads more money than me didn't jump in first....

I like the longer headstock personally, but then again I think the 4001/8 potato head is real cool too. All in the eye of the beholder...For the U.K. guys that reserve works out at 2000 sterling plus shipping and possible import taxes. You,d pay double that for a 60,s Ric in London...if you could find one. A rare great looking and playing bass. Really, if your not a total purist $3500 seems a good buy imo.
