wow there are a lot of really nice rics on ebay right now ... 4080 azureglo, 4002, two 60's rics, two s5 basses and even a 2030 ... then not to mention the usual selection of 4001 and 4003 basses ... about the only thing missing is an s8 and a 4004 ... and a 4005 ...

Wow another 4080 in Azureglo! Someone on this list has got to get this. I didn't think there would be one of these for sale on ebay for some time. Now that mine is fixed up it plays like I can't belive but it takes long arms and a short strap to get to the 6 string the way you need it.
And it is heavy but who cares right?

Go for it no reserve on this one and it's rarer than the black one I saw running before.

If a potatohead comes up I'll mortgage the house.

Exactly what my 4080 looked like when I bought it, 22 years ago. Grab it, someone!

I actually hate when something like this comes up. This looks to be in fine condition. That Anvil case sucks though. She sure is pretty...

Sergio, instead of me going through all this angst, I'm willing to double your money on what you paid for yours.

Fat chance, haha.
Seriously, my 4080 is one instrument I won't let go. But I sure would love to see the one hereabove find a home with you or any of the Forum members. Come on, guys, indulge me!

I tell you it's not often you see them in this condition. You guys will probably kill me for this but, If I got it, I'd swap out the pickguards for white ones.

I am doing the same with mine now. You did the same with your's Sergio, right? You photo does look much better than mine with the white pickguard and it goes well with the white trim.

Seems Rickenbacker made most of these doublenecks with black accents, no matter what color the body was? Interesting

It's kind a cool to think that as rare as these Azureglo doubles are we may have three members on this list with one!
Go for it guy's they ain't gonna become less valuable. Your Kids will make a bundle someday.

Randy,
Nice to hear Mike Parks made everything right with your 4080.
And if a potatohead comes up, you will NEED a second mortgage! Image Thats going to be a pricey one. Might have to wait a while, considering the rarity of those.

That 4080 sure is cool. Is there a reason Rick used different wood for the fretboards on the bass and the 6 string? It just seems a little odd to me. Are they all like that, or did they just happen to take the fretboards from two different sources this time?

Steve It was kind of a mutual fix? I did some glue work when it came back but and I have re-adjusted the truss rods to get rid of a slight buzzing on the fourth & fifth frets, but I am very happy with Mike and his efforts and I will do business with him just as soon as I can put a little more money away.

By the way I never knew the difference between the 4001 and the 4003 necks the action on this Azureglo neck and the way it fits in my hand is even better than my 4003? I am glad I had the 4003 first I would be dissapointed in the way it feels if had used a 4001 for a while.

Somebody bid this thing will ya? This one is in as good shape as mine and well worth the starting bid. Just be sure to have the tension lessened on the bass neck for shipping. The way these attach to the body and the angle they are at is not good for shipping. Even Mike agreed this was the way to ship these and I know he will never send another doubleneck with the tension on the strings again.

I have interest in it. The last two that were listed I don't believe got bids of $4000. I'm hoping he lowers the bid if no one bids on it prior to the end.

It is like playing with fire as poeple do make side deals to have him end the auction.
