Also, I deviated slightly from your recipe...
Instead of going 0.045" across the sweep, I started at 0.050" on the low E and decreased each pair by 0.001" - hence, by the time I was at the treble e pair, I was down to your suggested 0.045"
The reason I did this is because the space BETWEEN the high/low pair is important as well, while it may not be noticeable at all, I suspect it will be (even if only because of the psychological impact).
Also, my photo's didn't come out that great - in the above, the inset upper left was taken one handed (other hand was holding a hand-held magnifier and the saddle in the vise is in the bubble spot on the hand held glass).
I'm a happy man, but I gotta tell ya, anyone wanting this job done, expect to pay for the results!
