Two Weeks with My Rick...

An I still love it! The neck has not been a problem for me and now that I'm finding some amps I like, I'm really starting to appreciate the variety of tones I can get of it. Now all I need to do is decide between a Mesa, Ashdown or Ampeg amp and I'll be set.
Oh yeah, it would help to work on my chops for a while and learn some new material, but that's trivial stuff

Ric necks are the best ... in combination with the pickups it is a top notch bass ...
there is a down side ... ric-o-sound and the mechanical mute ...
I prefer 2 mono outputs and no ric-o-sound and the suprestructure above the mute makes palm muting almost impossible ... both of these features are so obsolete ...
as per chops ... play every day ... you will get better ...
all 3 of those amps will work ... I think mesa is overpriced ...

I still find a certain charm to the Rick O Sound function. Through two amps it's actually a blast.
Distort/effect your highs & keep the lows pure...
Even my drummer likes it!

I love my Ric-O-Sound, and played through an older Ampeg (1969-B-25) with two seperate input channels I can really get some wonderful tones from my 4003.
I've only tried my v63 briefly through my Ampeg, and there I split the mono output into the two channels, the initial impression was "Holy Cr&p I've died and gone to Rick'n-halla" !!
Unfortunatley on the initial move to Canada I had to make some tough choices, clothes, or my big rig, clothes won this time.

so where's the big rig? is this a permanent move or are you coming back to the states for a time? maybe back to the homeland??

Not going back on a permenant basis to Scotland. My big rig is safe and sound in it's raod cases stored in a good friends house in CA.
It's for now a permenant move, I'm hoping to have it shipped here in the new years.
